We cordially invite you to join us in Buenos Aires for the 14th Biennial Conference of the Society for Tropical Veterinary Medicine (STVM) and the 16th Conference of the Association of Institutions for Tropical Veterinary Medicine (AITVM) which will be held jointly from 23 to 28 September 2018 in Argentina.
This conference is dedicated to animal production, health, and welfare in the tropics. The range of topics is wide and covers from small holder farm management and rural development to the health of productive animals and pets. An important restriction to animal health and production in tropical areas are infectious diseases caused by viruses, bacteria, and protozoa transmitted by arthropods. Also infestations of ectoparasites such as mosquitos, lice, flies, and ticks can lead to significant impairment of animal health and economic losses. However, non-vectorial diseases caused by pathogenic microorganisms and helminths are also of great importance. Whether your interests lie in basic or applied research in the fields of risk assessment and management of vectors and vector-borne diseases in human and veterinary health, this conference is a must for 2018.
