We cordially invite you to join us in sunny South Africa for the 12th Biennial Conference of the Society for Tropical Veterinary Medicine (STVM) and the VIII International Conference on Ticks and Tick-borne Pathogens (TTP-8) which will be held jointly from 24 to 29 August 2014 in Cape Town, South Africa.
Whether your interests lie in basic or applied research in the fields of risk assessment and management of vectors and vector-borne diseases in human and veterinary health, this conference is a must for 2014. Two additional workshops focusing on tick taxonomy/ data mapping and predictive modeling, as well as designing your Next Generation Sequencing project and data analysis will be held.
The joint STVM-12 & TTP-8 conference will cover scientific topics on disease risks and challenges - both for animals and for humans - brought by viral, bacterial and parasitic pathogens. Shared session will focus on topics including:
- Parasites and climate change
- Innovative pathogen detection tools
- Host-parasite-pathogen relationships
- Immunity and vaccines
- Innovative solutions for parasiticide drug discovery
Parallel session will include topics:
